A-10C ILS landing (very low visibility)
| My first instrument landing, just to prove to myself I could do it. I use instruments all the time in DCS when I'm looking down, because I use a hat switch, so I don't have a lot of time to look around while finding targets. It's very sloppy, I don't use any nav lights or landing lights, the airport lights are off, and I end up coming in too fast, and below the glide-slope because I forget about the airspeed. Visibility is literally soup. I try to keep at about 1500 feet, over the sea so I don't hit any mountains while I'm setting up the ILS. |
