Answer: Xfire detects when your friends are playing a game on a specific IP address and port; your Xfire client then launches a game server with command line parameters to join that same server.

Answer: We "conitnue" to support all outr games. We look at what games are being heavily requested by the community in the New Games forum, and typically pick some of those each release. We also keep an eye out for new, upcoming games that look to be good and try and support those from the day of launch

Answer: When MTV bought Xfire, they told us that they loved what we were doing and they wanted to see us continue the great growth that we were already achieving. They have been very supportive of us and have not changed our focus on creating a great product for our users.

Answer: Xfire launch in January 2004. We grew pretty rapidly from then, to the size we're at now (over 5,000,000!)

Answer: Everyone works pretty hard here. The devs work like crazy getting a new release out every 3 weeks, and keeping the system running 24x7 even with 5 million registered users. The marketing/biz dev team does amazing online events, dev chats, game bundle deals, and more. The sales folks bring in the $$ that keeps the whole thing running - with deals from Mountain Dew, Electronic Arts, Dodge, Axe, Stride

Answer: Well, we always had an office, and were pretty well set up. If you remember Xfire was an offshoot of the original company, Ultimate Arena. So the cosing wasn't started in a garage :)

Answer: We already support 12 languages, but we do plan to add more over time.

Answer: You generally need a college degrees for the positons at Xfire. We occasionally have interns from local schools, but we're pretrty much all in the 20's, 30's and 40's

Answer: I think it is safe to say that most non-trivial programs have bugs. We do our best to eliminate all of them!

Answer: A ton! We track the forums and use the feedback continuously both to prioritize new features and also to tweak existing features.

And it was so cool that we KNEW at that moment that Xfire was going to ROCK. :)
