IT Operations Manager

(Linkedin Job Post) We're looking for a highly experienced Technical Manager to lead a small team whose responsibilities include maintenance of a large-scale IT infrastructure and data management. This role will report to the VP of Engineering and will work closely to support the engineering team, product manager, and marketing teams. Responsibilities:
  • Manage a small system administration team and perform system administration-related tasks
  • Manage, improve and maintain a large-scale infrastructure implementation
  • Manage IT support to 3rd-party services requiring access to hosted infrastructure and data, such as email marketing or business intelligence tools
  • Perform work and manage a small team responsible for front-end maintenance related to our consumer website, desktop application installer, and software bundles
  • Manage relationship with external infrastructure-related vendors
  • Interact with upper management to develop schedules, budgets and estimates related to infrastructure projects.
  • Create technical specifications and other necessary written documents needed for project work
  • Interface with internal staff and external developers to ensure technical projects are executed in on time, on budget and in conformance with project specifications
Requirements/ Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Technology; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the development or management of large scale web sites
  • Strong Project Management skills - ability to monitor and report on project status, budgets, schedules, etc.
  • 3+ years of prior management experience with at least 3 direct reports required
  • Ability to define project scope, develop detailed baseline project plans and technical specifications, facilitate the collection of technical, operational or business requirements, set milestones, create roadmaps, as well as track and manage projects to successful completion
  • Must be able to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to project stakeholders
  • Must be able to function effectively in a quick paced environment with frequently changing business needs

PHP/Ruby Web Developer

(Linkedin Job Post) We're looking for a dynamic, talented and experienced web developer to make an immediate impact and contribution to the team. Xfire is under new independent management and just announced a fresh round in capital. Skills and Requirements:
  • At least 4 years experience in web application development.
  • Ability to participate in all phases of the software development cycle: from product definition and design through implementation, debugging, and testing.
  • Experience with SCRUM or other agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development processes.
  • Experience with PHP, Ruby, javascript, HTML/CSS, SQl, and/or MySQL.
  • A firm understanding of and experience with MVC design patterns.
  • An ability to design and develop read/write RESTful web services to support both internal applications and Internet facing API's.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Perforce, Subversion, or Git.
  • Experience managing and optimizing distributed teams including permanent and contracted developers.
  • Work with Product Team to Review product requirements, wireframes, and acceptance criteria and help break them down into smaller, releasable user stories.

Community Manager

We're looking for an experienced Community Manager to manage on-site and off-site social media, and to be the face of our company to users. This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will work closely with the marketing team, site production team and support team. Responsibilities:
  • Manage user interactions on the Xfire site, forums, clans/communities
  • Manage social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and the rest of the web using social listening tools to identify key conversations
  • Act as the user voice to the rest of the company, including product development
  • Act as the voice of the company to users
  • Manage efforts to develop game related content, and user-generated content (videos, game reviews, etc.)
  • Contribute to blog posts, forum updates, etc.
  • Manage roll-out schedules, content calendars and event calendars

Marketing Associate / Marketing Producer

We're looking for a reliable, detail oriented problem solver who wants to learn sophisticated marketing for social networks, large scale website publishers, and the gaming industry. You’ll be part of a small startup team with a productive work ethic. Your primary responsibilities will be manage the Responsys email platform; building campaigns (business rules, dynamic content, reporting, analytics); optimizing landing pages; running events/contests; managing display ad creative/campaigns; and other related marketing programs. This role can be either more technical, or more creative... depending on the right candidate. Either direction, it is a core production role that will work with and learn from a very seasoned Chief Marketing Officer. Skills and Requirements
  • Familiarity with building sophisticated programs using Email Service Providers (ESPs) such as Responsys, Digital Impact, Blue Hornet, Exact Target
  • Experience building and managing marketing campaigns
  • Experience project managing, managing creative resources, managing html coding

VP of Engineering

We're looking for a dynamic and highly experienced VP of Engineering to make an immediate impact and contribution to the team. What you need for this position:
  • 10+ years experience in the delivery of enterprise business applications, specifically in full life cycle software development
  • Minimum 5 years managing the development of an enterprise-class software product using .Net, Java, and C++ cross platforms
  • Cloud computing experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with managing multiple products and multiple versions of various products
  • Proficient with .Net / Microsoft technologies
  • Experience in estimation of engineering efforts, implementation planning, and rollout of product deliverables
  • Ability to develop project plans, budgets, and resource requirements
